OVERVIEW / DEVELOPMENT

707 Broad Street, a Cass Gilbert creation, was built in 1926 on the site of the L.S. Palut Department Store and later repositioned as the Kresge Newark department store. Remaining a department store until 1981, it was transformed into a 13-story office building following acquisitions and renovations in the late 1980s.

Now reimagined as Link 707, the building preserves its historic exterior, including a grand marquee, while introducing state-of-the-art interiors designed for modern businesses, innovation hubs, and cultural experiences.

The project is developed by Hanini Group and Shift Capital, reflecting a commitment to quality, urban revitalization, and creating spaces that honor Newark’s history while supporting its future growth.

As Newark’s landscape has evolved, 707 Broad and 153 Halsey remain two of the most iconic towers in the Central Business District.

 ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE

Defined by its Neo-Classical elements, 707 Broad Street features grand geometric forms and a refined simplicity, a contrast to the ornate designs of the late 19th century. The restoration celebrates the building’s 100+ year-old heritage, blending historic character with modern design to create a space that honors the past while embracing the future.
