Located at 707 Broad Street in the heart of downtown Newark, this 630,000-square-foot landmark is being reimagined as Link 707—a next-generation hub for innovation, business, and culture.

Originally developed as a premier retail destination, the building is undergoing a major transformation led by Hanini Group, preserving its legacy while introducing modern infrastructure designed for today’s tenants.major transformation led by Hanini Group, preserving its legacy while introducing modern infrastructure designed for today’s tenants.

 ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE

Designed by the renowned architectural firm Starrett & van Vleck, known for creating some of the most prominent department stores in the United States, the building was constructed over 100 years ago as the Kresge-Newark department store.

Its design reflects a strong retail heritage, with bold presence and functional elegance tailored to high-traffic urban environments. Today, the restoration carefully preserves the building’s historic exterior, including the iconic grand marquee, while introducing a modern interior aligned with contemporary needs.

 TRANSFORMATION

Now known as Link 707, the building is being repositioned by Hanini Group and Shift Capital as a technology and innovation hub, anchoring Newark’s rapidly growing ecosystem.

The project blends historic character with state-of-the-art upgrades, creating a space where legacy architecture meets forward-thinking design.
